British actress Letitia Wright was injured and hospitalized after sustaining minor injuries during an overnight shoot for the superhero sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

A Marvel spokesperson said in a statement to the Associated Press Wednesday that the incident happened while filming a stunt for the sequel. Wright, 27, is expected to be released from the hospital soon.

The movie’s shooting schedule isn’t expected to be affected by the injuries to Wright, who plays young Wakandan tech genius Shuri in the Marvel films. The “Black Panther” sequel is currently filming in Boston after starting in Atlanta in late June.

“Wakanda Forever,” again directed by Ryan Coogler and due out in theaters July 8, 2022, returns many of the stars of the Oscar-nominated 2018 hit “Black Panther” including Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Daniel Kaluuya, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba and Angela Bassett.

It’s the first “Black Panther” movie since original star Chadwick Boseman died last August at age 43 after a private battle with colon cancer.
