Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer Bollywood film ‘Jersey’, which was scheduled for release on 31st December has been postponed amid rising cases of Omicron variant of COVID 19.
Shahid Kapoor shared the news on social media and wrote, “In view of the current circumstances and new Covid guidelines, we as a team feel it is prudent to postpone the release of Jersey. We will see you with our film as soon as we can in 2022.”
He further wrote, “Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year.”

The new release date of the film has not been announced yet.
With the rapidly growing cases of Covid 19 due to Omicron, many state governments have issued new Covid guidelines and lockdown and night curfew have been introduced in various parts of the country. Cinemas and multiplexes have been either shut down or have limited occupancy.
