Deep Sidhu, a Punjabi singer who rose to prominence after the Red Fort incident, is once again making news for his nasty remarks. On Tuesday, the City Police Commissionerate filed an FIR against Deep Sidhu for allegedly injuring the religious sensibilities of the Valmiki and Ravidas groups.
In addition, the case was opened after Jassi Talhan, the chief of the Guru Ravidas Tiger Force, filed a complaint. Not only that, but Jassi Talhan and other members of the community have asked that Deep Sidhu be arrested immediately.
He had allegedly uttered disparaging comments about the Valmiki and Ravidas groups in a video when he went live on Facebook on October 1. The actor shared the video on his Facebook page, and it quickly became a social media sensation.
For the time being, policemen at the Baradari police station have begun an inquiry based on the complainant’s testimonies after filing a case against Sidhu under Section 3 (1) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the IT Act, among other provisions.
