Shazam! Fury of the Gods has finished filming, and the sequel to the 2019 hit looks to be just as wacky and heartfelt as the original.
The world is one step closer to its return to the Zachary Levi-led happy place known as Shazam!, and it’s definitely something desperately needed right now. Of course, there’s still a bit of a wait until the highly-anticipated sequel finally releases, but hey, maybe the theme of Shazam 2 will be patience. At the very least, it’s definitely reached a milestone, and that’s worth celebrating.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the sequel to 2019’s surprise DC hit Shazam!, has finally reached the end of its often-delayed filming schedule. After COVID-19 complications prevented the movie from finally spinning up the cameras for quite some time, the production managed to power through when filming began earlier in 2021 and has now reached the end of that particular hurdle. Director David F. Sandberg decided to commemorate the occasion the classic way: on Instagram.

Once again, there’s still a lot of time to go before Shazam! Fury of the Gods premieres, so that should give eager fans plenty of time to catch up on the story by watching the first one again. There are plenty of aspects from the first Shazam movieS that are sure to come back again, so brush up and get comfy, cause it’s going to be a bit of a ride.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is currently set to release on June 2, 2023.
