With ‘Verses Of War’ actor Vivek Oberoi fulfilled his life-long dream of playing an Indian soldier on-screen. His honest portrayal seems to have struck a chord with the audience as the short film, which is currently streaming on FNM Media’s YouTube channel, has garnered 1 million views less than a week after it being released.
The war drama, which has been written by Kapil Mishra and directed by Prasad Kadam, was released on the occasion of Republic Day. While the views have been high, when one looks at the comments dropped in by the viewers, one realizes how well the film has connected with them.
Director Prasad Kadam says, “From the inception I knew it would be a mammoth task. I am ecstatic to see that people now have accepted this film with open arms. The reviews, the feedback is overwhelming.”
Vivek Oberoi said, “Verses of War was my tribute to the undying spirit of the army. To see the film accepted with open arms feels extremely special. It’s my first attempt in the short format form and clearly there are many takers for this kind of storytelling. If the subject is good and is executed with panache then, the form just becomes a vessel. Now that this film has grabbed so many eyeballs, the intention is to always concentrate on content which has a certain universal appeal and that which resonates with viewers.
The team is ecstatic about the fact that the film is doing so well on the basis of word of mouth. In today’s world where vithe ews are bought and likes are paid for, it is heartening to see a sensitive film getting such good organic views steadily.
